Adding Scorm to Totara File Upload Limit 2mb
The SCORM module is a course action which allows you to upload any SCORM (or AICC) bundle to your course. Totara Learn will track a learner'south access, progress, scores and completion of SCORM packages, provided the SCORM file contains this information.
SCORM packages are an excellent way of bundling up externally developed interactive elearning content and integrating into online and blended courses.
Totara Larn fully supports the AICC and SCORM ane.2 specifications. It besides supports the SCORM 2004 specification, with the exception of these extensions:
- Content Aggregation Model
- The Run-Time Environs
- Sequencing and Navigation
SCORM 2004 packages that do not apply these extensions should function correctly in Totara Acquire.
Creating a SCORM activity
- Within the required course, Plow editing on.
- Select SCORM from theAdd together an activity menu.
- Drag and driblet a compressed SCORM file onto the file upload area or use the add file icon ( ) to scan and add a file.
- Gear up the SCORM Settings.
- Set theActivity completion settings if required.
- ClickSalvage and return to grade orSave and display.
Alternatively, once you are happy with the default settings for SCORM packages in your class, you can instead drag and drop the zipped SCORM package direct into the class (providing editing is turned on).
Side by side, selectAdd a SCORM packetfrom the dialogue box and selectUpload. Once you have uploaded your SCORM package you can notwithstanding edit the settings equally normal.
It's possible to limit the viewing and launching of SCORM files using capabilities. The capabilities modernistic/scorm:launch andmod/scorm:view allow you to make up one's mind which roles can launch and/or view SCORM activities.
Updating SCORM packages
In that location may be times when you need to update a SCORM package but need to retain the completion data and electric current learners' progress. For example, you may accept updated text in an elearning module without adding new content. In order to retain this data, you demand to ensure that the new SCORM package's IMS manifest file has the sameparticular identifieras the electric current SCORM package.
If you need to update a SCORM packet that is used in multiple courses, it is useful to turn on automobile-updating. You can do this by post-obit these steps:
- Inside the required grade, Plough editing on.
- Select SCORM from theAdd an activeness carte.
- Enter a name and description.
- Select theAddbutton ( ) and select the repository containing your SCORM files.

Now the SCORM activity will automatically check the selected repository (depending on theMotorcar-update frequencyyou selected) and update the activeness with the latest Zero file.
If you use the automatic update method described above, yous even so need to cheque that the current and new SCORM packages take the aforementioneddetail identifierin theirIMS manifest files. If the new package has a different number, regardless of whether you lot update the SCORM automatically or manually, yous will lose your completion and progress information.

The last completed attempt option does not include attempts with a failed condition. | The pick to start a new endeavour is provided by a checkbox above the Enter push button on the content structure page, and then ensure access to that folio is provided to allow learners more than than one try. Some SCORM packages have been built to rails new attempts, some have not. Should the learner re-enter an existing effort, and the SCORM content does not accept internal logic to avoid overwriting previous attempts, they can be overwritten, even though the effort was completed or passed. |
Force new endeavor | If fix to Yes, the Start new attempt checkbox is subconscious and review mode is hidden. Every time a learner accesses the package, a new try will be recorded. After that, the Offset new attempt checkbox is available to the learner. Where No has been selected: A learner cannot obtain a passed or failed status unless there is an assessment in the SCORM package, so ensure the activity has been congenital to include at least one graded question. A learner cannot obtain a completed status unless the SCORM bundle has been built to include a completion requirement such as viewing a sure amount (percentage) of the content. |
Lock later on final attempt | When set to Aye, the learner will be prevented from further attempts of the SCORM activity once they accept used all of their allowed attempts. | An attempt is only considered finished if the SCORM parcel has a cmi.cadre.lesson_status of passed, failed, or completed. |

You can choose to add externally hosted SCORM packages, either via URL or via the file picker. Length of time in minutes that an external AICC HACP session can remain open up. | -
Length of fourth dimension in days to go along the external AICC HACP session data | A large number of days volition fill up the table with sometime data but may exist useful when debugging
The AICC standard for usernames is very restrictive compared with Totara Learn and allows for alphanumeric characters, nuance and underscore only. Periods, spaces and the @ symbol are not permitted. If enabled, user ID numbers are passed to the AICC package instead of usernames. | -
If enabled, access to SCORM objects when JavaScript is non supported/enabled in a users browser is not permitted. If disabled the user may view the SCORM merely API communication will fail and no grade information volition be saved. | It is recommended this setting is enabled.
| - | |
Set a mask for the debug, so that the debug log only appears under sure conditions. For instance, yous tin can use a elementary regex on <username>:<activityname> e.g. admin:.* volition debug for admin user simply. | -
If enabled, SCORM packages can be downloaded only if the user has the course:manageactivities adequacy. If disabled, SCORM packages tin always be downloaded (by mobile or other means). | -
Enable the SCORM player to keep the user session live | When enabled the SCORM player will automatically communicate with the server in society to continue the user's session from expiring, providing the user keeps the SCORM actor open in their browser and that the browser can communicate with the server. | This may be considered a minor security concern, bit it may also be required in order to prevent unwanted session timeouts during SCORM attempts. |
